There are a lot of things that make Cycling The Italian Way special. These include the handcrafted Italian bikes, the ‘tifosi’ (fans) lining the race courses cheering the riders on, famous climbs such as Sestriere, Ghisallo and Passo dello Stelvio, and the beautiful “podium girls” (known as “le miss” in Itay) who hand out the prizes to the winners at the of each stage. But, what really makes Cycling The Italian Way special are the riders themselves, the Ciclisti Famosi. On this page we list a few of our favorites. Click on the photo to learn more about the rider. Information on other Italian cyclists can be found at Ciclisti Italiani.
